Brazil 2008
We are still compiling all the testimonies from Brazil. But here are some from just the first few days (of a 3 week trip!) Pastor’s
Family Healed Our
good friend Pastor Marcelo Maura and his family were a great blessing to us in *
Pr. Marcelo was healed from
esophageal stricture. He had had trouble getting food to pass through his
esophagus. No more! * His mother received a dramatic change in blood sugar which we believe is a healing from diabetes and we will document further. His mother also received a healing from numbness in her foot which was caused by surgery. * Marcelo’s
sister’s fiancée was healed of a knee problem which was severe enough to
cause him much difficulty walking at times. Glory to God!
Healings,
Deliverance... On our
first night in Brazil, we ministered at Marcelo’s church,
Igreja Batista Internacional Agnus Dei. Kurt
shared the story of how Kurt
preached on “Intimacy with God”, and the power of God was very strong that
night. After the sermon, many came forward for prayer. Everyone who
received prayer was touched by God in some way. Youths stood at the front
worshipping and weeping after God touched them. Several people were
delivered from demons associated with their involvement in witchcraft. Several
were healed from various illnesses, including severe head pain, and knee
problems. We were able to talk with these people weeks later, and they
were filled with joy, declaring that God had totally changed their lives!!
One 12 year old boy was brought to the altar by a friend. We began
prophesying to him. Then Marla said, “Do you feel like your heart is
soft, or hard?” He replied, “My heart is hard.” She said, Yes
- the Lord showed me your heart is hard, but He will work in your heart this
week.” Walter and Marla prayed, asking God to soften his heart. Two
weeks later, he would receive Christ as Savior and Lord. Street
Children We went
out in two teams, one with Kurt as the leader and one with Marla. (Katie was
watching the kids at our “ A
Prophetic Message Arriving at Silvia’s home group that night, we enjoyed an Asian meal with some people from the Korean church. This church is a “missionary church”, which in this case means that almost everyone in this large church aspires to some form of missionary work. We asked for prayer before we ministered - and were impressed with the response. They fervently raised their voices in prayer for us and for our ministry. We could tell it was going to be a great time of ministry. Kurt preached to the 20 or so people on Intimacy with God and how to minister in the power of God everywhere you go. At the end, everyone prayed fervently for God to use them in ministry...the sound was like a roar of voices calling out to the Lord. Kurt prayed over each one for an impartation of the power of God for ministry, and prophesied over them. People were being set free and touched in deep ways. Many of them shared later that the things Kurt shared were exactly what they had been asking the Lord about that very morning! This
was a very special day. The team went to minister at a “casual
service” at Agnus Dei church that night. This was the night that We then
prayed for them to be baptized in the Holy Spirit, and almost all of them were
praying in tongues. It was so wonderful. Good job, Bryan and
Steven, for preaching the gospel to these youths!!! Then Kurt shared a
message on “God has a great plan for your life.”
A
Cloud of God’s Glory Two
children’s workers came and said they wanted the power of God. After we
laid hands on them, the youth fell on the floor writhing. We asked him to
renounce the sin he had been involved in, and then told him to rebuke the demons
in his life and command them to go. Some of the bondage was very deep, as
he was involved in witchcraft before he came to Christ. After he prayed
and we prayed, a cloud of God’s glory appeared, and everyone in the room
started yelling as they felt the power of God. Then the guy raised his
hands and started worshipping, at which point the demons all left and he was
totally delivered! Then everyone was worshipping and rejoicing!
Glory to God!!!
Freedom
from Fear! Kurt
was praying for a youth leader at the end of a service.
However, there was no translator with him at the time, so he had a very
time figuring out what the man wanted prayer for. Finally Kurt stopped
and prayed, “Lord, please show me what he needs prayer for!” At that
point, the Lord showed Kurt with a word of knowledge exactly what the man needed
prayer for! After they prayed, Kurt went on his way. Two weeks later this
youth leader came forward with the following testimony: “I asked Kurt for prayer to be free from fear, because I have many problems with fear when I am trying to minister to the youths and I feel that I have not been very effective because of my inhibitions. The person translating could not translate, so Kurt asked God to show him what I needed. God showed him, and he prayed for just the right thing. At that moment I was set free from all my fears, and the spirit of fear has not returned. Then at the Sunday service, my four year old son came and told me ‘I feel God in my heart for the first time.’ Since I am now set free from fear, I was able to minister to my son for the first time ever!” “I
Never Thought I Would Get Saved in a Bar...” Pr.
Daniel took us to a bar/restaurant to eat. We met a lady and A
Sign From God A woman
and her sons came up for prayer at the end of a church service. At that point
she mentioned that her husband wasn’t saved, and that he had been resisting
salvation for years and he was sitting on the back row of the church. She
said to Marla, “Would you like to meet him?” At that moment the woman’s
children ran back towards their unsaved father, and the Holy Spirit said,
“Follow them!” Marla
followed the children back to their father. Through a translator she said,
“The Lord is showing me that he sees you as a man of God who is going to
follow Him and lead your family in holiness and righteousness.” They
conversed a little, and then she said, “Would you like to receive Jesus as
your Savior?” He replied, “No.” Then
Marla and the translator (Rodrigo) prayed and bound the powers of darkness that
were preventing him from getting saved. Then Marla asked again,
“Would you like to be saved?” He said, “No - I asked God for one
more sign before I get saved. When God gives me another sign, then I will
receive Christ.” Marla then received a word of prophesy for him.
“The reason you are resisting salvation is that you are afraid you won’t be
able to do a good job as a Christian and as the leader of your home.” He
said, “Yes, that’s right.” She replied, “That prophesy was your
last sign from God. Now you can receive Christ.
Would you like to receive Christ as your Savior?” He nodded happily.
That man received Christ and was also delivered from
some bondages that night. His wife was beaming as they left the church! |
